The plate rises in two rounded crests — a double-peaked ridge of amethyst points, many at or above thumb-size, vitreous luster, terminations sharp. Color is zoned: deep violet at the tips, paler lilac toward the bases and along the left crest, so the ridge reads as layered light-to-dark rather than flat purple. Faces are clean and reflective; under moving light, facets flash in sequence across the two peaks. A narrow band of grey matrix shows along the lower edge where the piece was cut from its cavity wall.
This is a geode turned inside out — a freestanding section of crystal wall, displayed points-forward. The crystals grew unusually large for Uruguayan material, which typically runs small and dense; large points mean the mineral solution stayed undisturbed long enough for each face to build up clean and flat. What you get is amethyst you can read crystal by crystal, not as a texture but as individual stones.
