A single thick, water-clear prism dominates the piece, its faces broad and flat with faint internal growth lines and phantom layers visible when light passes through. A dense skirt of fine needle crystals surrounds the base, in contrast to the clarity of the main spire above it.
One master crystal does the work here: a thick, water-clear prism rising thirty-plus centimeters like a glacial spire, its interior holding growth lines and faint phantom layers — ghost outlines of the crystal's own younger selves, recorded as it grew. Around its base, a skirt of fine needle crystals gathers like frost at the foot of a peak.
