Visual description

The whole form is built from vertically aligned kyanite blades, cornflower to grey-blue, their long faces carrying a silky-to-pearly sheen that makes the blue flow as you move around the piece. Color deepens and pales in horizontal bands. Milky quartz emerges through the lower midsection like a snowline on the tower.

Kyanite crystallizes under the pressure of colliding continents, and it looks the part: dense, parallel blue blades compressed into a single vertical form. This 38-centimeter specimen stands like a miniature mountain of blue schist — a tower the earth built, not carved.

Why collectors want this

Vertical proportion this extreme is rare in mineral specimens — most sit wide; this one stands tall. Thirty-eight centimeters of naturally aligned blue, no resin stabilization, with a luster that animates under any moving light: it is a statement of height in a category dominated by mass.

Living with it

The base can be exchanged to suit your setting on request. One care rule matters: kyanite splits easily along its length and its hardness varies by direction — never apply sideways force to the blades, and lift the piece fully supported from below.
