Visual description

Frost-white to pearl-white throughout, the thin blades stacking in fans and rosettes, their edges faintly translucent so light seeps through the outer petals. The luster runs silk to pearl across the blade faces. At the lower right, the small deep-purple lepidolite patch is the single accent on an otherwise all-white piece.

Brazil's pegmatites are the cradles of gemstones — the coarse-grained veins where aquamarine and tourmaline grow. Feldspar is the cradle itself: the matrix mineral that builds those veins. Here it takes its most sculptural form, thin white blades crossing and fanning into a compressed bouquet of paper flowers, with one deep-purple note of lepidolite signing the corner.

Why collectors want this

Feldspar rarely gets to be the subject rather than the supporting matrix — here the blade-fan habit gives it real sculptural presence in its own right. The single lepidolite accent is a quiet reminder of the pegmatite it grew alongside, without competing with the white.

Living with it

Side lighting brings out the silk-to-pearl sheen across the blade faces better than direct overhead light, which tends to flatten the fan structure. Position the lepidolite corner toward the viewer as a colour anchor, and lift only from the denser base.
