The face is fully covered in scale-like golden calcite blades, honey to pale amber, semi-translucent with brighter edges; some petals carry a fine orange line along their rims. In light the surface moves between greasy and pearly luster. The reverse is near-black botryoidal stibnite — two faces, two colors on one plate.
Hunan's antimony-rich veins occasionally produce this pairing: golden calcite blanketing a dark stibnite base. On this large plate, thousands of petal-like calcite blades overlap into a single continuous surface — a field of honey-colored bloom frozen on black metal ground.
This is not a piece about one beautiful crystal — it's about accumulation: thousands of blades composing one unbroken golden face at statement scale (48 cm across). The black stibnite reverse is the quiet second act.
A statement piece for a console, mantel, or entry table; the metal stand supports it upright. Light from above at a shallow angle makes the petal edges glow. At 10.6 kg, position it once and leave it — always lift from the base.
