Visual description

Thousands of thin, translucent white petals stack outward from a dense core into a full, rounded bloom, each petal's rounded edge carrying a faint sugary shimmer under ordinary light. There is no visible host stone beneath the bloom — the petals build the entire form. Under ultraviolet light, the same white ignites into a warm, saturated glow across the whole piece.

Calcite can grow as blocks, as spikes, as blades — and, rarely, as this: thousands of thin, round-edged petals stacked and opened into a full bush of white bloom, nearly a cube of flowers with no stone visible beneath. And like the best calcite, it keeps a secret for after dark: under ultraviolet light, the blossom answers.

Why collectors want this

This is the softest, whitest object in any room it enters — and the only one that transforms when the lights go out. Petal-habit calcite at this coverage and scale, twenty-plus centimeters of unbroken bloom, is a genuine rarity; the fluorescence makes it a specimen you interact with, not just look at.

Living with it

Strictest care applies: the petal edges are extremely thin — never touch the bloom itself, clean only with a soft air blower, and give the piece a position free of passing contact. Display solo against a dark background; keep a small UV lamp nearby for the after-dark reveal. Keep dry.
