The body is deep navy, matte and velvet-like, built from countless tiny fluorite globules. Grey-white quartz patches break across it like foam. At the center sits the focal point: a natural cavity ringed by a wreath of noticeably paler blue, where thin carbonate plates wear a dusting of micro-fluorite — a ring of light-blue petals opened on a midnight field.
Fluorite is usually a mineral of cubes and sharp angles. At Huanggang it sometimes abandons geometry entirely, growing instead as rounded micro-globules — the "blueberry" habit — coating whole surfaces in matte, deep-blue beads. This teardrop plate carries one further surprise at its center.
Why collectors want this
The central wreath is a one-off — a naturally formed ring of pale blue with its own cavity at the heart, placed almost dead-center on the plate. Beyond it, the botryoidal habit itself is the draw: fluorite that looks nothing like fluorite.
