A near-cubic mass of pure black, assembled from broad, flat faces that meet along crisp ridgelines. The faces themselves perform: matte black from one angle, mirror-black from another, trading places as the light or the viewer moves. White quartz frost-veins and flecks scatter across the darkness — sparse, irregular, and therefore legible, like the first snow that doesn't hold.
Push smoky quartz past dark tea, past near-black, toward full opacity, and it approaches what collectors call morion. This massive Brazilian block sits at that far end of the spectrum — a mineral that has stopped negotiating with light. Across its black faces, thin veins of white quartz drift like frost on a winter stone, the only concession the piece makes.
